Doing it alone is a romantic notion that seems to be universal. But, as Roamer 2 showed, it's truly limiting. Everyone who has ever succeeded at anything has a lot of help. So the thing to do is encourage people to find the assistance they need.
How much more so when it comes to a big project like living abroad? Just glad she figured that out...AND that she got out of Russia before it was too late.
